Fragments of memory. How we lose what can be saved

The Sviatohirsk Lavra, the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary built in 1862, the National Museum of Hryhorii Skovoroda, the building of the local history museum in Okhtyrka, and the Shchorsa Cinema in Chernihiv are just a small part of the list of monuments that were partially or completely destroyed by Russian missiles. Will we be able to preserve our cultural heritage under such pressure? Can we take care of history and culture today to revive and rebuild it tomorrow? Is it appropriate to adopt the experience of postwar reconstruction in other countries? And most importantly, what is actually happening to the wreckage of our history?
