Studio Renn is a jewelry design studio founded by Roshni and Rahul Jhaveri in 2018 in Mumbai. Opening the company for its founders was the culmination of a long journey of art research. While studying and collecting artwork, Roshni and Rahul came up with their own instrument of expression. Creating jewelry for them is something different from the business and production of beautiful accessories. "Things are greater than the sum of their parts," says studio founder Rahul Jhaveri. For a designer, this is the physical embodiment of relevant, significant, future-oriented ideas.
Rahul Jhaveri — co-founder, creative director and company designer. He combines the qualities of a businessman and the skills of a master of processing precious stones, love for art and the creative process.
Roshni Jhaveri — co-founder of the company, which is responsible for communications and relations with partners, promotion of marketing initiatives and developmentmaking growth plans. Roshni makes sure that the brand is ahead of expectations while remaining true to itselfher philosophy.
"Jewellery is a way of expression for us," explains Rahul. "Everything we do originates in the sensory and mental space, is a reaction to a certain time and the surrounding world." For the founders of the studio, modern art is a mirror of what is happening around. Each Renn item begins with the author's reflection and is accompanied by a story. Any product is individual, unique, metaphorical, its meaning should be read "between the lines".

"Each object is a leap of faith for us," says Rahul Jhaveri, making the constant search and unpredictability of the finale an integral part of the creative process. - I never know what will come out of what we have planned. If we know exactly what discoveries await us in the future, then we are doing something wrong." Masters are constantly open to experiments and seek inspiration in communication with other creative units. "An interdisciplinary dialogue can bring something unique," says the creative director of the brand.

As a result of cooperation with Material Immaterial studio, designers who create functional and decorative objects from concrete, a new experiment was born — Transient Ring. "We have always been fascinated by concrete. This is a simple and modest, but very important material for our civilization, because modern cities are built from it," says Rahul.

The Transient Ring is a ring made of concrete and encrusted with gold and diamonds. The largest diamond of 1,54 carats is pear-shaped. The surface and edges of the ring are intentionally "damaged": during the manufacturing process, the product was treated with acid, creating the illusion of destruction over time. With this "flaw", the masters hint at the changing nature of the material and refer to the image of a modern city that is constantly transforming.
"Concrete is a living material that is constantly changing. Reacting to the environment, it eventually becomes covered with a patina. Concrete has a short service life of 30–40 years, so everything made of it is fragile and elusive. There is something poetic about it,” shares Rahul.

The idea of constant change runs through the entire philosophy of the company. "Our processes and thoughts define who we are. These processes are variable and constantly evolving. Our works embody the spirit of a researcher of the new century," Rahul and Roshni believe.

Things are greater than the sum of their parts: Studio Renn objects are unique artifacts of our era, which speak of modern material and immaterial values, the image of the modern city and the person who lives in it.
