Acceptance of works for the competition traditionally begins in March, and in October, an international group of judges selects finalists in the main categories "Feeling of Place", "Interior", "Exterior" and "Use of Building". This year, photos were also accepted in the two new subcategories "Mobile Photography" and "Portfolio", which were not included in the shortlist. And the picture deserving the main award of the competition — a prize of 3 thousand. euros, chosen by festival participants by voting during the event itself.
"I spent a lot of time near this building, watching how people interact with it and how the light changes during the day. It helped me to understand the essence of architecture," is how Pavel Panychko, the winner of APA 2018, described his experience.
In total, the works of amateur and professional photographers from 2018 countries were submitted to the Architectural Photography Awards 47 competition.
