Lake of illusions. Lake collection from Golran

/ Design /

From the ancient bazaars of the East to the most modern European markets, from Mashhad to Milan, where the headquarters of the Golran company is now located, three generations of descendants of the family of the founder of the brand, Hadjizade Golran, continue the traditions of the largest masters of Persian carpet weaving.

The Lake collection is a tribute to the creativity of the Israeli artist Yaakov Agam, who made a revolution in the world of optical perception in art. Designed by designers Yael Mehr and Shay Alcalay of London-based studio Raw Edges, the Lake collection rugs can look bright and colorful in the morning when you're going to work, and appear before you in soft shades in the evening when you return home.

The color saturation of the carpet depends on the viewing angle - this is one of the principles of op-art

"It may seem like an illusion, but this is the meaning of Yaakov Agam's "lens" op-art technique, which Golran masters successfully transferred to the sphere of traditional Persian carpet weaving," say the designers.
