A factory for the production of byraktars will appear in Ukraine "in the medium term"

The first agreements regarding the implementation of the project took place in 2021.

About this reports informed Minister of Defense of Ukraine on the official Facebook page. Oleksiy Reznikov noted that the enterprise will be created in the medium term.

"... Agreements in principle have been reached regarding the construction of a joint factory for the production of byraktars in Ukraine. Currently, communication between the defense departments of Ukraine and Turkey continues, and we continue work on the implementation of the plant construction project. These are medium-term plans. And they will be implemented. I especially thank the Minister of Defense of Turkey, General Hulusi Akar, for his position and support," the message reads.

The head of the Ministry of Defense thanked the company Baykar Makina for the gift of three bayraktars. The day before, Ukrainians collected money for them within the framework of the initiative of Serhiy Prytula and blogger Igor Lachenkov, however, the manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles decided to provide them for free.

"In just two days, our citizens around the world and volunteers collected the necessary funds (even more!) for the purchase of three UAVs. Next, the Ministry of Defense had to contract this "purchase". But the company Baykar Makina is united in the desire of the Ukrainian people to win - and decided to make a good gift for the Constitution Day of Ukraine - three "birds" for our Armed Forces. Therefore, all the funds collected by volunteers can be used by them for other useful and important things," Reznikov notes.
