The National Opera of Ukraine resumed its work in Kyiv. From now on, the institution will show performances by Ukrainian and European composers. Instead, Russian ones were removed from the repertoire.

About this reports Told me director of national opera Anatoly Solov`yanenko in an interview with "KP in Ukraine".

"On May 21, when we resumed work, Europe Day was celebrated in Ukraine. Ukraine has chosen its European vector, and I think that now no one has doubts about this choice. Therefore, it is symbolic that European classics were played on this day... At the moment, we have removed from the repertoire all the performances of composers representing the famous country. This is the fundamental position of our team. "Swan Lake" is impossible in today's realities," he said.

In autumn, the theater group plans to present a new production - "Triviata" by the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi.
