In Zhytomyr, at Velika Berdychivska Street, 33, preparations for the facade work of a historic building have begun, but the work is being carried out without a reconstruction passport.

About this reported on the Zhytomyr Urban News Facebook page.

"The building does not have a reconstruction passport, so the potential appearance of the facade can only be analyzed based on the photographs provided by the city's chief architect and the Department of Urban Planning and Land Relations," the post reads.

It should be noted that in 2018 the Zhytomyr authorities sold at auction for 9 million hryvnias the building of the defunct dental polyclinic on St. Velika Berdychivska, 33, which is located in the historical area of Zhytomyr, but is not an object of cultural heritage.

The new owner undertook the reconstruction of the building, as part of which another floor will be added to the building, which will actually change the historical appearance of the building.

In addition, it is planned to carry out works on furnishing the facades of the building.

"If we take into account the architectural decoration and features of the building preserved to this day, such as the framing and multi-layered arches of the windows of the first floor, the cornice, pilasters, sandrics and the remains of the framing of the windows of the second floor, false windows, then these elements are not taken into account in the potential decoration of the new facade, therefore, they will not be abandoned, and will not be reproduced," Zhytomyr Urban News explains.

It is also noted that the new facade involves elements that are not inherent in this building: changing the arches of the windows of the second floor, the absence of false windows, changing cornices, adding panels, adding gables. On the side of the balcony, the addition of pilasters, consoles and a stucco balcony.

In the department of urban planning and land relations of ZMR noted, that the project aims to improve and modernize the existing building while respecting the necessary architectural and historical constraints. The architectural project itself was coordinated with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.
