The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft law proposing to ban Russian songs and music from Russia's aggressor countries in Ukrainian media and public space.

The relevant document made public on the official website of the VRU.

According to it, the reproduction of audiovisual content of Russia will be prohibited until the liberation of all occupied Ukrainian territories and the cessation of aggression on the part of the Russian Federation.

It is worth noting that the Russian media product will not be available only on radio and television. Its use will also be prohibited in entertainment facilities, public transport, educational institutions, cultural and recreational facilities, hotels, restaurants, cinemas.

As stated in the explanatory note of the draft law, "Russian films and music carry poisonous programs of behavior, poisoned values and sadistic messages. Otherwise, it is impossible to explain the behavior of the occupiers, who grew up under the influence of this culture and staged brutal shootings of civilians and looting in our cities."

At the same time, the share of Ukrainian media products, in particular films and songs, is planned to increase to 50%.

We will remind that the day before in the Verkhovna Rada registered the draft law, which aims to decolonize toponymy and regulate the use of geographical names throughout the territory of Ukraine.
