About this reported on the page of the national reserve.
3D scanning of architectural monuments of cultural heritage is carried out for the purpose of their protection during the war.
"We all remember the terrible events of 1941, when, as a result of an explosion, the cathedral literally flew into the air. The reconstruction of the monument was complicated by the fact that there was no detailed plan. The unique reconstruction of the shrine was possible thanks to pre-war photographs and memories of eyewitnesses," the post reads.
Currently, the temple is being digitized both externally and internally. This will not only facilitate a more detailed study of the monument by scientists and architects, but also help to accurately reproduce it in case of any destruction.
Also, the digital copy will contribute to the development of tourism and allow the world to get to know the best examples of Ukrainian baroque.
Digitization is carried out together with the team within the project #SaveUkrainianHeritage.
