Rain gardens can be set up in Kyiv: "Kyivzelenbud" is studying the experience of commercial projects

Representatives of the "Kyivzelenbud" association met with archimatika architects on the territory of the Fine Town residential complex in order to gain experience in landscape design.

"Fine Town" is a project of a residential complex with semi-open blocks and a Smart Street from archimatika In particular, the complex is known for its rain gardens.

This part combines geoplastics, natural stone, a fairly simple assortment of trees and shrubs, as well as flood-resistant perennials. Residents of the residential complex have the opportunity to walk along pedestrian bridges and enjoy the landscape.

In addition, the rain garden immediately became a new playground for the little ones, and the misty fountain - a new toy that evokes many emotions in children. The main goal is the integration of nature into the residential complex.

"Rain gardens are a practical solution for areas where we often observe water stagnation, due to the installation of drainage and planting of plants that absorb excess moisture. Also, it really looks beautiful.
For Kyiv, taking into account the temperature changes, abundant rainfall, which have become common recently, the peculiarities of the soil, and therefore the presence of areas where water drains slowly, this is relevant," says Oleksiy Korol, general director of Kyiv Green Building Co., Ltd.

It is quite possible to start implementing such ideas in the city of Kyiv. Rain gardens will reduce the load on the main sewage system, while creating an attractive landscape.

"I am very pleased with the interest in the project from the organization responsible for the greening of our capital. This is an opportunity to adopt interesting ideas that can diversify the vision of landscaping in Kyiv. Setting up rain gardens abroad is a common urban planning practice, but in Ukraine they are just beginning to take the first steps in this direction.
