Project developed based on the Japanese animated cartoons of Studio Ghibli, founded by director-animator Hayao Miyazaki. Together with this studio, the park is realized by the Aichi Prefectural Government and the local newspaper Chunichi Shimbun. Its budget is estimated at 295 million dollars.
The amusement park will have five themed zones, three of which are scheduled to open in November 2022. The first of them, Ghibli no Daisouko (“Giant Warehouse of Ghibli”), will include a restaurant area with the anime “Ghost Gone”.
In the second section, Seishun no Oka ("Hill of Youth"), an attraction based on the anime "The Return of the Cat" will be built.
In the last one, Dondoko Mori ("Dondoko Forest"), the sacred trope from the animated film "My Neighbor Totoro" will be recreated.

Two other thematic areas are planned open in the second half of 2023. In particular, then they promise to build a Moving Castle from the anime of the same name.

It is worth noting that after the completion of the construction of all sections, the organizers expect about two million visitors per year.
