Now announced architectural competition for the best project regarding the reinterpretation of the territory of the historical environment of the complex of the former Potocki Palace in Ivano-Frankivsk and the creation of an interactive multifunctional unifying space.
As part of the competition, the important issue of adapting the territory of the complex to the modern needs of the city community is raised. There is an international competition
is open and participation in it is free. Architects, designers and students are invited to participate.
During the preparation of the project, the contestants should be guided by the following principles of revitalization:
- multifunctional space with the possibility of rapid transformation into an environment, both for individual, personal use, and use by groups of visitors;
- preserving the historical urban structure of the territory and the spirit of the place (genius loci);
- zoning of the territory in accordance with the formed ensemble structure and the developed concept of revitalization and development of the complex;
- unification of the space outside the buildings along the fence by means of pavilion and landscape architecture, covering structures, mobile structures that transform and other means;
- the organization of a semi-open space between the buildings for communication and comfortable movement between them, taking into account protection from atmospheric influences and the all-season mode of operation of the complex;
- organization of a multifunctional open public mobile space within the central park part of the complex;
- safety of visitors, including in connection with possible Russian missile strikes.
Proposals must be sent by January 30, 2024. The results of the competition will be announced on February 12, 2024.
A prize of 70 hryvnias is awarded for first place, 50 hryvnias for second, and 30 hryvnias for third. Three honorary awards of UAH 10 each are also provided.
The coordinator of the competition is Oleksandr Baranovskyi (representative of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine).
