About victory informed Founder of Expolight Mykola Kabluka.
Installation transforms the destroyed Romanivskyi Bridge in Irpin into a symbol of restoration. The red lines of light resemble stitches that heal a wound and refer to the theme of memory and resilience. According to the author, the project is designed to convey the experience of war in the language of light - as a way to talk about complex things that are difficult to express in words.
"Receiving an award of this level is a feeling of great inner pride and responsibility. For the story that we told to all of light. For the people for whom it was created. And for the fact that light in this case has become more than a tool - it has become the language of memory and life," said Kabluka.
Romanivskyi Bridge is part of the large project "Kyiv Region. Places of Memory", which will allow everyone to witness the tragic events that unfolded in the Kyiv region in the spring of 2022.
It should be noted that the Media Architecture Biennale Award is held every two years and brings together the best global projects that demonstrate innovative approaches to combining architecture and media art.
