This was reported by Suspilne with reference to the comment of the mayor of Zhytomyr, Serhiy Sukhomlyn.
"We did not announce or cut ribbons at the opening of the plant because we realized that it had attracted the attention of many people, including the Russian media. That is why we did not focus on this event during the war. The first stage of the waste processing plant is already in operation, with a recycling rate of about 40-45%.
Croatian specialists are due to arrive in the near future to launch the second stage, which will bring the processing depth to 80-85%. We should reach this level in a few months. So, in principle, this project is moving forward."the official said.
In early 2022, we reported that the waste recycling plant was to be launched in test mode in February 2022, and was to become fully operational in March. The plant promised to accept all types of waste, except for special and construction waste.
