"Negotiations regarding the opening of the Ukrainian Park began 3 years ago at the initiative of the then Ambassador Andrii Sybiga. Today we brought this matter to an end and now we have our own Ukrainian "corner" in the capital of Turkey.
It is very symbolic that the opening of the Ukrainian Park took place precisely during the war in Ukraine, which is a symbol of the support of Turkey and the Turkish people of Ukraine," the department notes.

The official opening of the Ukrainian Park took place on October 2 with the participation of the adviser-envoy of the embassy, Oleksiy Chernyshev, and the mayor of the Chankay district, Alper Tashdelen. From now on, Turkey has two Ukrainian toponyms, the first of which is Ukrainian street.
