Enköping invites cyclists to take part in a new city initiative.

About this reports the edition of The Mayor.

The authorities of the city with a population of 21 people decided to implement a special game in order to interest residents in improving the improvement of the settlement. The Finnish start-up company Crowdsorsa helped implement the idea.

Anyone can download the application from the developers for free in the App Store or Google Play. The application contains tasks to be completed and detailed instructions.

According to the idea, the player has to ride a bike along the routes that are mapped in the game and collect virtual fruits and berries for which he will receive real money. On each kilometer of the path there will be objects, for each of which you can get almost 2 euros.

“The first user to find an item gets a reward for it, then it disappears from all maps in real time. This makes participation in the promotion well-organized and shows players where data has not yet been collected," explains Crowdsorsa CEO Tony Paju.

The information received will be analyzed by artificial intelligence in order to detect damage to the roadway, and then it will be provided to plan the maintenance of the network of bicycle paths in the city.

“This project is important to us because we can finally get a solid foundation for methodically understanding how to maintain our footpaths and bikeways. This gives the best insight into priorities and future changes. We also think it will be a good way to get the residents of Enköping Municipality to come out and experience our walking and cycling paths," said Maurizio Freddo, Enköping Traffic Planner.
