A new high-speed express train to the airport will be launched in Paris: the journey will take only 20 minutes

/ Urbanism /

The new express will connect Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with Gare de l'Est in the 10th arrondissement. The journey time will be just 20 minutes, with trains running every 15 minutes, daily from 05:00 to midnight.

According to write Euronews, the CDG Express line will begin carrying passengers on March 28, 2027.

The fare has not yet been announced. However, children under 16 traveling with families will be able to use the line for free. For residents of the region Ile-de-France with the Navigo card, discounts from 30% to 40% are provided.

Currently, you can get from the city center to the airport by the RER B suburban line, which has been operating since 1977. The trip to Gare du Nord takes approximately 34 minutes and the ticket price is 11,80 euros.

In addition to launching the CDG Express, the region's transport authorities are working on building an underground pedestrian tunnel between the Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est, which are located about 500 meters apart and are used by about 800 passengers every day.

Completion of the work is scheduled for spring 2027, simultaneously with the launch of the new express.

The city also continues to develop the metro: new line No. 17 will connect Saint-Denis with the district Mesnil-Amlo via Charles de Gaulle Airport. The first section is planned to open in mid-2027, with the entire line to be operational by 2030.

All of these projects are expected to significantly improve transport connections between the airport and the French capital.
