The cable car, known as C1 or Paris Téléphérique, connects the metro station of line 9 in Créteil with the Villa Nova district in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. The total length of the route is about 4,5 km and the construction cost reached 138 million euros. It is the first cable car of its type directly within Paris, write Independent.
The line is served by 105 gondolas, each of which can carry a maximum of 10 passengers. It is expected that more than 11 people will use the cable car every day. The gondolas travel at a speed of about 22 km/h, and the entire journey takes about 18 minutes, while the bus takes at least 35 minutes.

The interval between the arrival of gondolas at the station is from 23 to 37 seconds. The cable car is fully adapted for people with disabilities, as well as for the transport of strollers and bicycles.
The service starts at 5:30 am and runs until 23:30 pm, and on Saturdays until 00:30 am. Travel is available with a standard Navigo transport pass, and for passengers without a pass the cost of the trip is 2 euros.
According to Grégoire de Lastery, vice-president of the Ile-de-France regional council for transport, the cable car has become a much cheaper alternative to building a new metro line. The project is operated by the international transport company Transdev.
In case of adverse weather conditions, technical failures or during the annual two-week maintenance in August, passengers will be served by bus routes. The cable car will also temporarily not operate at night or in strong winds over 90 km/h.
