In the Louvre, one of the visitors, disguised as an elderly woman in a wheelchair, tried to damage the painting "Mona Lisa".

At first he wanted to break the bulletproof glass, and after unsuccessful attempts, he smeared the picture with cake and scattered roses, write Daily Wire. In this way, the man wanted to draw society's attention to global environmental problems, the report says.

It is now known that the work of art was not damaged, and the vandal was immediately detained by the institution's security.

By the way, this is not the first time they have tried to damage the Mona Lisa. In the 1950s, a man splashed sulfuric acid on her, which affected the painting, and a Bolivian student threw a rock at the canvas.

It is interesting that the last attempt to distort the work of art was made by a Russian in 2009. Then he poured tea over the painting.
