The longest bicycle tunnel in the world was opened in the Norwegian city of Bergen

The world's longest bicycle and pedestrian tunnel Fyllingsdalstunnelen was opened in the Norwegian city of Bergen.

The tunnel, 2,9 km long, can be cycled in about 10 minutes, and it will take 30 to 45 minutes to walk.

A bicycle tunnel cuts through Levstakken mountain in southwestern Norway, connecting residential areas in Bergen. According to the municipality, this will help reduce traffic in the city and reduce emissions.

The tunnel is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 23:30 p.m. It has well-lit rest stops, surveillance cameras and emergency telephones placed every 250 meters.
