According to write Whitemad Magazine, in the last century the discharge of pollutants from livestock and industry into water bodies was a common phenomenon. Since the river was a source of drinking water for the city, and its pollution threatened the safety of residents, the reservoir was piped.

Currently, pollutants no longer enter the rivers of Norway, so the city authorities will restore the former channel of the reservoir to Oslo at the request of the people. These works are planned to be completed in 2024.
The publication notes that it is also planned that all construction works will be environmentally friendly: the equipment used to create the park and restore the river is electric. Moreover, not only tools and vehicles, but also trucks that deliver materials to craftsmen.
"A construction site with zero emissions has many advantages. Less noise and less pollution, but costs a little more,” explains the site manager.
It is expected that the cost of arranging the park together with the restoration of the river will be about $15,6 million.
