The official opening was held on the Independence Day of Ukraine, said Mrs. Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Oksana Markarova.
"Everyone can contribute to our struggle for independence and every contribution is important! And some, like the renaming of the intersection in Brighton to Ukrainian Way, which was successfully completed today on Independence Day, is also extremely symbolic," the official said.
It is worth noting that from the mid-1970s, the Brighton Beach area became known as a place where a large diaspora of Russians and Ukrainians from the USSR formed.
