The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy offered Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko to hold public discussions regarding the future fate of the busts of Russian cultural figures at the "University" metro station in Kyiv.

About this informed Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko based on the results of the 11th meeting of the Expert Council on Overcoming the Effects of Russification and Totalitarianism.

"Regarding the busts of Russian cultural figures in the lobby of the "Universitet" metro station - we decided to offer the Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko to initiate a public discussion of possible options for their replacement," the minister noted.

Tkachenko also informed that it was decided to create a special communication page on the ICIP website for feedback from the regions, so that the public and local authorities could inform us about any problems related to the cleaning of public space from Soviet and imperial markers.

According to him, a separate proposal was made to hold field sessions of the Expert Council in the regions. One of the first cities can be Poltava, "given the complex discussion there about the presence in the public space of the city of objects that are imperial symbols of Russia." "Such regional trips can become an effective tool for solving many problems," he concluded.
