On November 18, the updated facade of the building, built according to the project of the prominent Lviv architect Ivan Levinsky in 1905, was opened to the public. It is reported ZAXID.NET.

In particular, according to Lilia Onyshchenko, head of the historical environment protection department of the Lviv City Council, the cornice of the building was in the worst condition - it had to be changed and covered with sheet metal. Also, part of the majolica tiles were replaced with specially made copies. However, with the help of soundings, the restorers managed to discover the original color of the building's facade (it was changed several times over the decades) and restore the original color scheme.

It should be noted that earlier the roof of the building was restored with the funds of the city budget, and in cooperation with the German company GIZ, metal elements - balconies, grills, roof decoration - were restored. The work on the building is planned to be completed in December - then the portals, plinths and facades from the side of Ruska Street will be restored.

The building of the former insurance company "Dniester" is known for the fact that in the XNUMXth century the theater "Russian Conversation" and the sports company "Sokil" functioned in it. Actor and director Les Kurbas also performed in its walls. It is also worth mentioning that the architect Ivan Levynskyi introduced Hutsul motifs into the decoration of the architectural volume of the building.
