About this reported on the Facebook page of the First Medical Association of Lviv.
The new building with an area of 2510 sq. m is designed for 55 beds, which increased the total capacity of the UNBROKEN ecosystem to 246 beds.
The building will feature modern wards, physical therapy rooms, occupational therapy rooms, spaces for individual psychological assistance, and recreation areas. Multidisciplinary teams will work with patients, including physical and rehabilitation medicine doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychotherapists, and social workers.
In the future, nearby, on Shimzeriv Street, they also plan to set up an art space for rehabilitation through art.
The building will also house one of the UNBROKEN University Medical School’s academic buildings. Future doctors, physical therapists, and other rehabilitation professionals will be able to gain practical experience right next to the clinic.
The hospital is located in a monument of local importance from 1882, which is part of the historical ensemble of the Voskresenets Monastery. The building, designed by architect Albin Zagursky as a Russian boarding school, was used as a military hospital after World War II.
In 2023, the building was transferred to the First Medical Association of Lviv by Metropolitan Filaret of Lviv and Galicia, after which it was restored and converted into a modern rehabilitation center.
The restoration and renovation of the Holy Intercession Hospital was made possible thanks to the financial support of international partners, in particular the people of Taiwan.
