Appropriate decision approved at a meeting of the executive committee of the Lviv City Council.
The new concept for arranging the avenue was presented by the chief architect of the city, Anton Kolomeytsev. According to him, now the boulevard, which is completely blocked by MAFs, is in a bad condition - there are no convenient pedestrian connections due to the large number of cars, and during rains, the street is heavily flooded.
"The boulevard is more than a kilometer long. The roadway was reconstructed a few years ago, and the main area of the boulevard itself is in poor condition. The main idea is that it should be a space not only for transit. The boulevard should become the main urban space of the northern part of the city," he says.

The new project for the development of this territory will provide for the restoration and strengthening of the main pedestrian transit and the development of bicycle paths. In the future, the territory of the boulevard will be divided into two parts. One of them will have a boulevard with public spaces, and a square will be created on the other. A fountain will be installed on the main square.
"We will create public spaces for different groups, and there will also be additional landscaping - trees, bushes. Spaces will be for children and teenagers, maybe also for skaters and adults. We are also planning a system of rain gardens, specific landscape solutions that will improve drainage so that the street does not flood during rains. There will also be artistic elements on the boulevard, which will give a cultural image to this space," says the chief architect of Lviv.

For the implementation of the plans, the city must currently select an executor and develop design and estimate documentation, which will determine the cost of the works.
