All 12 trams donated by Berlin in 2024 have already entered service in Lviv. They operate on routes No. 1, No. 3, No. 6, and No. 7.

About this reported in the press service of the Lviv City Council.

As noted by the City Council, these trams consume more than two times less electricity than the existing ones.

“12 KT4D cars and spare parts for them were donated to Lviv free of charge by the Berlin Transport Company. The city received the first tram from this batch at the end of May, and the last one at the beginning of July last year,” the report says.

Also last year, the city received 6 low-floor trams from Bern. The cars are currently being prepared for operation on city routes. The city should receive the remaining 5 units from March this year.

The city council added that in 2025, Lviv will receive up to 25 used trams from the Swiss city of Basel free of charge. The transfer of electric transport to the city from the company “Baselland Transport AG” was approved by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.
