The LU Gallery team defines its focus as “art that responds to its time.” The focus is on practices that are able to withstand the challenges of modernity, as well as authors whose impact on the art community is often underestimated. The gallery format allows for experimentation with hybrid approaches, which, according to the founders, makes the space as flexible as possible.

The initiator of the creation of the gallery was collector and entrepreneur Adam Kharlampovich, also known as the founder of the NGO “Algorithm of Action” and the Adam Harber Foundation.

The exhibition "Grass Above Us" explores the theme of the relationship between humans and nature, which has become especially relevant after 2022. The exhibition combines the ideas of dark ecology, sympoesis, the concept of a "planetary garden", and other modern approaches that question the anthropocentric view of the world.

Among the participants of the exhibition are Kateryna Aliynyk, Olya Yeremeyeva, Yuriy Yefanov, Anna Ivchenko, Oleg Perkovsky, Vlada Ralko, Anton Sayenko, Masha Silchenko, Yaroslav Futymsky, Polina Shcherbyna and Myroslav Yagoda.

The gallery team is already working on opening branches in Paris and Vienna. In France, the project is supported by researcher and curator Christina Borges, who is developing a community of Ukrainian female artists in Paris. Vienna is seen as a cultural bridge between East and West, having become a home for many Ukrainian artists after the war.

LU Gallery believes that Ukrainian art has the potential to appeal to a broad international audience. To this end, the team plans to organize lectures, discussions, translations, and publications to better integrate it into the European context.
