Kyivmetrobud resumed the construction of the metro branch to Vynogradar, which was stopped at the beginning of the Russian invasion.

According to informed The head of the Kyiv Metro, Viktor Braginskyi, in an interview with TSN, the construction of the new metro line was stopped almost a year ago - in February 2022.

Currently, work has been resumed and the general contractor has focused on priority areas. In particular, there are pits in open areas, which - if left open - can collapse due to dense construction nearby.

Braginsky noted that now they are actually eliminating the man-made danger — they are fixing and covering the already built tunnels.

"Of course, the pace of construction is affected by the current situation, because construction crews and everyone involved in construction must be safe during an air raid. In addition, unstable power supply slows down the work process. It is very difficult to name a clear deadline for the completion of the works. But I can say that now the general contractor has focused work on the areas that require priority work," explained the head of the subway.

Next, according to him, experts plan to move on to the construction of the second tunnel from the "Mostytska" station to the "Syrets" station. One tunnel between them, 1249 meters long, has already been built.
