Ihor Zaporozhets registered the corresponding petition on the website of the Kyiv City Council. He suggests renaming the street of Russian writer Mykola Leskov to Vakhtang Kikabidze Street.
"Vakhtang Kikabidze is a famous Georgian actor and singer, a true friend of Ukraine, who supported our country's struggle for independence in the war against Russia. The actor refused the Russian Order of Friendship because of Russia's war against Georgia in August 2008...
He supported Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia after 2014. In 2019, he spoke in cities in the east of Ukraine (Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Rubizhne) in honor of the 5th anniversary of liberation from Russian militants," explains the author of the petition.
In a few hours, the petition gathered almost 600 signatures out of the required six thousand.
