The Kyiv City Council registered a project to dismantle 60 monuments and memorial objects that are part of the heritage of the USSR.

The initiators of such a decision performed deputies Alina Mykhaylova and Ksenia Semenova.

Subject to the approval of this project, the memorial signs must be dismantled within 60 days and handed over to district state administrations for the future creation of a museum of totalitarianism.

The list contains six dozen memorials, including the image of Vladimir Lenin on the "Hero City Kyiv" obelisk on Peremogy Avenue, the coat of arms of the USSR on the shield of the "Motherland" sculpture, monuments to General Vatutin, Shchors, Pushkin, etc.

All cultural objects belonging to the Soviet or Russian imperial era and to be dismantled were placed on interactive map of Kyiv.

In addition, the map also shows the location of streets that can be proposed for a new name.

It is planned that the draft decision will be considered at the next session of the Kyiv City Council.

Recall that the day before renamed a square in which there was a sign of friendship between Kyiv and Moscow. It was named after the Heroes of Mariupol.
