In Kyiv, streets can be named after "Azov" and Europe

/ Events /

As part of the de-Russification of toponyms, European and Polku "Azov" streets may appear in the capital.

About this official sites of both clubs report on the website of the Kyiv City Council.

The proposal for the appropriate renaming was submitted by the residents of the city. Their initiative was supported by Olesya Pynzenyk, a deputy of the Kyiv City Council, who has now sent an official appeal to the mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko.

According to it, it is assumed that Pushkinska Street can become European Street, and Lev Tolstoy Street - Polka "Azov".

According to Olena Pynzenyk, the public initiative to rename these toponyms needs to be approved through an online survey of citizens.

A complete list of objects for which it is planned to change the name, as well as a sample of the justification for the new names, can be found at here.

City residents' proposals will be accepted until May 1.
