The corresponding decision was made at a session of the Dnipro City Council, informed the head of the city military administration Borys Filatov.
"In short, one of the central streets of Dnipro, Schmidt Street, has become Stepan Bandera Street today. Now forever," he wrote.

The day before, they emphasized the need to rename Otto Schmidt Street in a petition registered by Olena Kovalenko.
The author justified this by the fact that the figure "was closely connected with the totalitarian communist regime", and in Dnipro toponymy "still does not find a worthy place for one of the leaders of the Ukrainian national liberation struggle of the XNUMXth century".
