This decision was adopted in Resolution No. 804 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated July 15, 2022.
On the eve Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko reported that the collective of the cultural institution advocated its renaming as a result of the full-scale Russian invasion.
"Three yeses for them from me and every Ukrainian. I call on everyone to follow this example!", the message states.
"In this difficult time for the country, every employee of the theater feels responsible for the future of our country. We live and work in our country, on our land, we, like all Ukrainians, will fight for our land, freedom and independence.
We support the decision of the theater manager to change the name of the theater. The entire team cheers for the Armed Forces and helps in every possible way to overcome the enemy. Our employees join the ranks of the Teroboron, transfer funds, donate blood and volunteer," theater representatives said in a joint statement to the Ministry of Culture.
