After that, on the KMDA website published a reminder that all shelters belonging to the fund of protective structures and marked by the Department of Municipal Security on the shelter map must be open and accessible to residents during an air alert.
If the balance-keepers will not provide public access to the shelters, the rescuers together with the police will cut the locks to let people into the protective structures.
"If the doors of the shelters marked on the map are closed during the air alert, the residents can call the rescuers or the police at the numbers "101" or "102". Then the locks on the doors are simply cut and access to the shelter will be opened to keep people safe. We already have such experience, unfortunately, we periodically receive complaints about closed shelters and react accordingly," said Roman Tkachuk, director of the Department of Municipal Security.
We remind you that you can find the nearest shelter in Kyiv on a specially created map.
