About this reports informed Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko on his official Telegram channel.
"During the war, until the withdrawal of the troops, we emphasize the importance of ending cooperation with all state Russian institutions in the sphere of culture and media, as well as with those representatives of the Russian Federation abroad who openly support the war started by the Putin regime and who do not consider it is necessary to express a clear position, keeping silent about the war in Ukraine," the statement reads.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture urges to refuse cooperation in any projects with those who, in violation of Ukrainian legislation, crossed the borders of the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories - Luhansk and Donetsk regions and Crimea.
"During the war, no Russian-Ukrainian reconciliation is possible because of culture. Under no circumstances," emphasizes Oleksandr Tkachenko.
The official added that the participation of Ukrainian artists and artists in joint projects with Russians under the slogans "We are for peace" is an attempt to manipulate the true causes of the war in Ukraine, unleashed by the Putin regime. The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine does not support such events.
At the same time, Tkachenko clarified that he does not call for the isolation of those representatives of the Russian cultural community who share democratic values, publicly condemn the war in Ukraine and point out that the political responsibility for the aggression in Ukraine lies with the Russian Federation.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture requires foreign partners to:
- Stop any cooperation with institutions financed from the state budget of the Russian Federation, and freeze the assets of Russian cultural centers in European countries.
- Suspend the membership of the Russian Federation in UNESCO, because this country violates the Hague and Geneva Conventions and commits war crimes in Ukraine.
- Move the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee from Kazan to Lviv.
- Block all Russian propaganda mouthpieces on the Eutelsat satellite platform and impose sanctions against Russian propaganda channels that spread disinformation about the war.
- Apply mirror personal economic and other restrictive measures to individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation based on the sanctions list approved by the Government of Ukraine.
- Provide real financial support for the restoration of the cultural heritage of Ukraine and assistance to the Ukrainian media.
