Russia will not be able to participate in the Cannes Film Festival and the European Film Awards

The European Film Academy and the Cannes International Film Festival condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and approved the decision to limit the occupying country's participation in international awards.

In particular, the organizers of the Cannes Film Festival stated, that they do not plan to receive official representatives from Russia due to the situation in Ukraine until the aggressor country stops military operations on our territory.

At the same time, the European Film Academy excluded all Russian films from the continental European Film Awards. Therefore, Russian cinema will no longer be able to claim the "European Oscar".

We will remind that on the eve of Disney, Warner Bros. Entertainment and Sony Pictures decided to stop distribution and screening of films in Russia due to its attack on Ukraine.
