In civilian life, Oleksiy was a highly qualified architect with a master's degree in the field of "Reconstruction and restoration of architectural objects".
For his age, Oleksiy managed to make a great contribution to the architectural heritage of Ukraine, participating in the design of objects of cultural and social significance in various cities:
- Biryuchy exhibition space, 2017 (as part of the Drozdov & Partners office team);
- equestrian club VG Horse Club, Kharkiv, 2016-2019 (as part of the Drozdov & Partners office team);
- Litmuzey Museum, 2017, Kharkiv (as part of the Drozdov & Partners office team);
- Roshen Plaza / Phase 2, 2019, m. Kyiv (as part of the AER office team);
- residential complex Drahomanova 31, 2019-2020, Kyiv (as part of the 2storm office team).
He was also a winner and prize-winner of Ukrainian and international architectural competitions.

In the text of the petition, it is noted that after the victory, Oleksiy intended to focus primarily on the reconstruction and preservation of the historical record of his native town of Nova Kakhovka. In 2022, after the start of a full-scale invasion, Oleksiy left his professional activities and voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces, doing aerial reconnaissance there.
On December 20, 2023, Vavushka Oleksiy Serhiyovych died while participating in hostilities in the village of New York, Donetsk region, as a result of non-life-threatening injuries.
