Putin wants to create a Russian analogue of Wikipedia

Russia plans to create a replacement for the global online encyclopedia Wikipedia.

This was announced by Russian dictator Putin during a meeting with Maxim Dreval, CEO of the Znanie company.

He explains the creation of a Russian analog of Wikipedia by saying that it will contain only "true information."

"Of course, objective, important, in-depth information, and beautifully, talentedly written, is in great demand, because Wikipedia alone is not enough... We know the quality of this information ourselves."

The conversation revealed that the Russian Federation is allegedly developing a "database" that will form the basis of the Russian alternative.
