Ptakha Camp has been hosting internally displaced families from frontline areas since the start of the full-scale invasion, providing them with opportunities for mental and physical recovery. Ptakha has become a new piece of infrastructure that supports this mission.

The location for the construction is not accidental: according to ornithologists, over 100 species of birds have been recorded in this location last year alone. The site is also a key point on the Camino Podolico route (a cultural, educational and ecological route from Vinnytsia to Kamianets-Podilskyi, - Ed. note), so Ptahakhata provides the opportunity for a short break for pilgrims.

For families living in the campsite, the space provides an opportunity to explore the local fauna.

"Ptahakhata became a pilot part of the Common Ground project. We deliberately built an experimental approach into it so that larger stages could build on the experience gained," the BUDMO NGO team notes.

The construction took place in an open participation format. Local residents, camp residents, and interested parties from other regions joined the process. BUDMO held a workshop on woodworking and brick making from local clay.

There was also a dance party to the beats in collaboration with a local Vinnytsia bar.
The result was not only the creation of an architectural object, but also the formation of a sense of community and mutual assistance.

The team's goal was not just to expand the infrastructure of Ptakha Camp, but to do it in an environmentally friendly and responsible way: using local materials,
minimizing environmental impact by involving non-professionals in co-creating the space they will use.
