In Dubno, in the Rivne region, the city authorities cut down almost all the trees for the sake of reconstruction of the square. Urbanists protest.

"Do you love life? Then you're in luck, because the mayor wants to take away the very possibility of such luxury from the people of Duben. The rendering shows the reconstruction project of the square near the Dubenska City Council. Previously, there was a large green area with Christmas trees, which were cut down the other day," - said in the message of urban planners.

Public activists expressed dissatisfaction with neither the concept of the future reconstruction of the square nor the fact of the destruction of green spaces. According to them, the lack of shade on the square will not allow you to sit on the benches for even half an hour.

"Sharovarshchyna. In Ukraine, there are still people who do not understand that a vyshyvanka on the sidewalk is a bad taste? Are there still people who do not understand that this is disrespect for the national symbol? As it turned out, yes. And in Dubna, such people lead the city", - they say activists

Activists emphasize that there are such tools as architectural competitions, public discussions, public consultations and surveys of citizens. And it is necessary to discuss projects before their implementation, not during the process or after.
