A pop-up installation by artist Robert Marshall was placed on Peveril Point overlooking Swanage Bay, in order, according to the author, to “give us a reason to think” about Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes.
The artist from the city of Wergem said that the work, titled “People,” features an inscription in Ukrainian on the doors, which are riddled with bullet holes in many places. In this way, he explains, the civilians were trying to show the invaders that there were civilians behind the doors.

The doors were taken out of town. Toretsk in 2024. The installation was set up from dawn to dusk on the anniversary. According to Marshall, the fate of the people who lived in the destroyed house is unknown.
“I just pray that they managed to escape,” he said.
Marshall added that the installation was created in a “pop-up” format so that it could be easily assembled and disassembled and displayed in different locations.
