Together with a team of Ukrainian colleagues, they have already carried out 3D scanning of two monuments of cultural heritage in Chernihiv, as well as two monuments of sacred architecture in the Lviv region and in Kyiv. reported the Government portal. The program of events is overseen by Bruno Delandes, an architect specializing in fixing damage to cultural heritage.
"We are very grateful to the Latvian side for supporting this project on documenting damage to cultural heritage objects of Ukraine and we hope for continued cooperation, and we also thank the participants of the Heritage Rescue Headquarters initiative for their help in organizing the visit of Latvian colleagues," said the Deputy Minister of Culture and Information politician Kateryna Chueva.
It is worth noting that Latvia has 20 years of experience in the field of documenting and diagnosing the state of cultural heritage objects during armed conflicts. In 2005-2006, they provided similar assistance to Iraq. In addition, XNUMXD graphics technology was used to document UNESCO World Heritage sites in war zones in Syria.
We would like to remind that about 400 cases of war crimes committed by Russians against cultural heritage and cultural institutions have been recorded in Ukraine.
