The Coursera online learning platform has stopped working in Russia

The international online education system Coursera suspends its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.

About this reports said in the statement of the CEO of the company, Jeff Majioncald. 

According to him, the management of Coursera took a number of measures to limit business in the occupying country. 

In particular, they stopped accepting content from Russian universities and industry partners, including courses, specializations and degrees. Materials from Russian partners will no longer be available on the Coursera platform for new participants.

The company also stopped further cooperation with Russian educational institutions through Coursera for Business, Coursera for Government Institutions and Coursera for Educational Institutions. 

In addition, access to any courses on the site will be restricted to Russian students.

The statement also refers to assistance for Ukrainian students. In particular, Coursera opened free access to all courses in the Coursera category for educational institutions. 

The company also announced the creation of a new course called “Russia's invasion of Ukraine", in order to inform the world community about the development of events, the scale of the humanitarian crisis and the consequences of the war on our territory.
