It is also about dismantling the monument to the Russian poet.

Appeal registered Mykola Yevtushenko on the website of the Kyiv City Council. He wants to demolish the Pushkin sculpture in the park of the same name, located between Peremogy Avenue, the film studio named after Dovzhenka and the industrial zone on Degtyarivska street.

"Today, the process of decommunization is one of the main tasks for the separation of Ukrainian culture from Moksha culture. I propose to rename the park in honor of Oleksandr Dovzhenko," the explanation reads.

As of August 31, the petition has received almost 1900 votes out of the 6 required.

The authors of the sculpture are Oleksandr Kovalev and architect Vasyl Hniezdilov. The statue, which was installed in 1962 at the entrance to the park, is 3,5 meters high. On her pedestal is carved the inscription "Pushkin - Ukrainian people".

By the way, in July, the director of the city improvement department of the KMDA, Timur Tkachenko, reported that the monument to Pushkin, located in the park of the same name, was being prepared for dismantling along with several dozen objects from the Soviet period. The official referred to the appropriate draft decision. Next, the expert commission must decide on the nuances of implementing the plan and implement it within a year.
