Activists of the Kharkiv toponym group raised questions about the new name of the park - willingly offered various options, however, the toponym "Central" gained the most popularity. Such a name will probably be supported by the city hall, as reported by Kharkiv City Council deputy Dmytro Bulak in comments to the discussion.

- Upland,
- Railway,
- Air,
- Sarzhyn Park,
- "Harpark 2,
- park named after Mykola Nosova, author of the Neznaiko trilogy.
Central park of culture and recreation named after Maksym Gorky covers more than 130 hectares and the middle of the city. The green space was officially opened in 1907. In August 2012, the last large-scale reconstruction of the park was completed.
