The Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the KMDA added the Holosiiv Water Tower to the list of cultural heritage objects, thus protecting it from demolition.

The founder of "Transformation Office" Maksym Bakhmatov announced this on his Facebook.

According to him, the public of the Holosiivskyi district together with the administration of the National Nature Park "Holosiivskyi" appealed to save the object, which is under threat of destruction.

"The Department of Cultural Heritage Protection brought the water tower to the street. Horikhuvatskyi shlach, 11A to the List of objects of cultural heritage
of Kyiv (order dated February 13.02.2023, 10 No. XNUMX)," Bakhmatov wrote.

Earlier, as part of the construction of two high-rise buildings, the developer informed local residents that he intends to demolish the water tower, as it is in a state of emergency and cannot be rebuilt.

It is worth noting that the building was built in 1995 under the leadership of the design institute "Kyivprojekt". It is not the only one in the capital - there is a similar tower on VDNG, which has the status of a monument of architecture and urban planning of local importance. Currently, both buildings are in a derelict state.

"The Holosiiv water tower is a valuable example of industrial architecture of the middle of the XNUMXth century. Holosiivska tower could become a new point of attraction for the Kyiv community and tourists. Observation platform, space for exhibitions and installations – its cylindrical volume can be used in different ways; the main thing is to have a desire", - emphasized in the Mapa Renovation public organization.
