One metro station on Vynohradar will open in 2026

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that at least one metro station will be opened in 2026, leading to the Vynohradar residential area.

That's what he's about said during a meeting of the Kyiv City Council.

The mayor previously predicted that two new metro stations would appear in 2027, as stipulated in the contract with the contractor. At the same time, Volodymyr Repik, Director of the Finance Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, confirmed that construction is currently underway within the planned funding.

The construction of the Vynohradar metro line in Kyiv is planned to be completed within 2,5 years, but the timing depends on funding. According to the plan, it should be completed by 2027.

Work is underway at six sites. One tunnel from the Syrets station to the future Mostytska station is already ready. For the first time in Ukraine, a non-standard solution is being used - a two-level tunnel, since there is dense construction nearby.
