The carried out restoration was the first step towards updating the space, and the lighting project organically continued this process.

The LUMINAL team had to solve two important tasks:
- to ensure a sufficient level of lighting for comfortable holding of events, as the light from the central chandelier and sconce was not enough;
- to create uniform lighting that would emphasize the hall's unique architecture and preserve its cultural heritage, in particular Jan Matejk's paintings — the main value of the space.

A team of lighting designers enthusiastically joined the process, using their own unique methodology. It involves a multi-stage approach: iterative modeling, testing of lighting in the hall, selection of lighting devices and optics so that lighting meets high quality standards and does not harm art objects.
The well-known restorer Mykola Bevz, who was already working on the restoration of the hall, joined the project. He shared the vision of the architect Yulian Zakharevich, this allowed the lighting design team to better understand the artistic and conceptual idea of the space.
Four lighting scenarios were developed for the hall: from bright daytime to soft evening, which allows you to adapt the space for various events. The LUMINAL team carefully thought out the location of the lamps in order to avoid unnecessary visual accents, unwanted shadows and glare.

When creating the lighting concept, we took care of the vision of the restorers, the vision of the architects of the Polytechnic and thought about the future of the Assembly Hall and everyone to whom this space will speak the language of light."

The lighting project was initiated by LUMINAL on a volunteer basis. Now the university is looking for patrons, ready to support the implementation of the lighting concept and co-create an artistic, historical and educational space for Lviv.
