About the project reported the by DesignBoom.
The hotel project was developed in collaboration with a nearby restaurant. They will serve as a stop for tourists and a place of rest for local residents.
“This area has been identified as a leading pilot area for green and integrated ecological development in the Yangtze River Delta. Starting in 2020, the region launched a series of rural revitalization plans to promote agriculture, culture and tourism. As a result, the Boatyard Hotel and Metasequoia Grove Restaurant are now a demonstration area for rural revitalization in Kushui-Shanwan,” says the GOA studio.
The architecture, decorated with spectacular arches, resembles the idyllic beauty of a natural marina. The team of architects tried to convey the outlines of the awnings of local boats in the wavy roof, and thus honor the folk history of the area.
The effect of being in a boat is also given by the immersion of the hotel by 30 cm in water. In particular, from the windows of the dining room, which is located on the first floor, there is an unparalleled view of the reservoir.
Qushui Shanwan Boatyard Hotel consists of three separate areas: reception, cafe and bar, and guest rooms. The arch of each room on the upper floor smoothly transitions into the arch of the lower one, which creates a harmonious unity and integrity of the hotel.
"Combining a living village with natural scenery, the Boatyard Hotel offers visitors a peaceful escape from the chaos of the city, immersing them in the embrace of nature," concludes the GOA team.
